Cardiologists are physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. This includes diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. Cardiologists will conduct tests and may perform procedures such as heart catheterizations, angioplasty, or inserting a pacemaker.
