Marlton, NJ – February 1, 2025 - Advocare, a physician-owned, multispecialty medical group with a network of over 800 providers, continues to expand its reach into Delaware by welcoming Bear Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in Newark, Delaware.

Founders, co-owners, and spouses, Dr. Nemishh Mehta and Dr. Shilpa Mehta, have been practicing in the community they live in for over 20 years. They are plant-based physicians caring for infants through geriatrics and encouraging healthy living for all their patients. Known for their personal and intimate setting, Bear Internal Medicine and Pediatrics provides continuity with physician-only visits, including same-day urgent care appointments, and has used eClinicalWorks since 2004. Their commitment to preventive health and chronic disease management makes them a trusted resource for their community where they care for up to 3 generations of families. They also are a Travel Medicine site, providing travel consultations including yellow fever vaccine administration.

Both physicians are graduates of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed their residencies at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. Nemishh Mehta, MD is a board-certified Pediatrician with a special interest in child development, autism, and ADHD. Dr. Mehta's proactive approach to preventive care, includes a strong emphasis on vaccine-preventable illness, reflecting his commitment to the long-term health and well-being of his pediatric patients. He has held leadership positions with the Delaware Chapter of the AAP and Wilmington-New Castle Pediatric Association. Dr. Mehta, a Connecticut native, enjoys music and cheering on his favorite teams – including the Yankees, Patriots, and the Nittany Lions.

Shilpa Mehta, MD is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and cares for all ages. Her expertise includes managing chronic conditions and coexisting mental health disorders, adolescent health, women’s health, and teaching her patients how to make healthy choices with plant-based nutrition. Dr. Mehta’s holistic and preventive approach to care enables her to identify and address disease risks, empowering her patients to lead healthier lives. Dr. Mehta, born and raised in the Hudson Valley in New York, spends her free time gardening, experimenting with plant-based recipes, and being outdoors.
