Marlton, NJ – March 1, 2025 - Advocare, a physician-owned multispecialty medical group with a network of over 800 providers, is expanding its psychiatric services to meet the growing demand for mental health care in New Jersey. As part of this initiative, Advocare is proud to welcome Dr. Akhil Sethi and Healthy Minds South Jersey to its network, further strengthening its commitment to comprehensive, high-quality psychiatric care.

Dr. Akhil Sethi is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with 20 years of experience in the field. His journey in mental health began in England, where he trained at renowned institutions, including St. George’s Hospital in South London and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in West Norfolk, affiliated with the University of Cambridge. He then completed his psychiatry residency at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, developing a strong foundation and interest in various psychiatric disorders.

Dr. Sethi further honed his expertise in treatment-resistant mood disorders like Bipolar and Depression by completing a visiting fellowship in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) at Duke University, North Carolina. In addition to his clinical practice, he has served as an Assistant Professor at Rowan University, mentoring medical students and psychiatry residents. He still holds a Volunteer Faculty position there. His leadership roles include serving as Medical Director at Barnabas Behavioral Health in Toms River, Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mt. Holly, and Buttonwood Hospital in Pemberton, NJ for the past many years. With a commitment to advancing psychiatric care, Dr. Sethi continues to bring his expertise to patient care, medical education, and leadership in mental health services.
